Recorded on-location during a recent missions trip to the Navajo Nation in Arizona, host Cam Garven sits down with 21-year-old Carlton Yazzie. Though raised on the reservation among the Navajo community, Carlton belongs to the Paiute tribe. Having lost his birth parents at ages 14 and 15, Carlton shares how growing up surrounded by horses and a loving adopted family taught him early lessons in resilience, hard work, and determination.
Today, Carlton operates his own entrepreneurial business as a horse trainer on the reservation, taking on wild horses, breaking them, and working with multiple horses a day. He draws a vivid parallel between breaking horses and facing life's hardships: when you get thrown off or life knocks you down, you get right back on and keep building.
