MOMENTUM

Dear Friend,

Every great movement begins with a clear vision and a willing heart. At Productive Lives, we believe in empowering people to live out their God-given potential — to become serving leaders who transform their communities, workplaces, and the world. We believe that God has given us momentum, that is to move forward, with the vision he has given us. To help people in their brokenness and get them to beauty.  As the prophet Isaiah says beauty instead of ashes.

We all know what it feels like to be broken.

Broken dreams.

Broken relationships.

Broken confidence.

Broken faith.

Life has a way of leaving cracks in our hearts and scars on our souls. Yet God has always specialized in doing His best work with broken things. In His hands, brokenness is never wasted — it becomes the raw material for something beautiful.

The Japanese art of kintsugi teaches this powerfully. When a cherished vase breaks, instead of being thrown away, it’s mended with gold. The fractures are not hidden — they’re highlighted. What was once broken now becomes more valuable because of the gold that holds it together. The beauty is in the restoration. That’s exactly what God does in our lives. He doesn’t discard the broken pieces — He redeems them. He fills our cracks with His grace.

He transforms our pain into purpose, our scars into stories, and our failures into faith.

God takes the broken and makes it beautiful.

He took Moses, a fugitive with a past, and made him a deliverer.

He took Ruth, a widow and outsider, and made her part of the Messiah’s story.

He took Peter, who denied Him, and made him the rock on which the Church was built.

He took the Cross — the ultimate symbol of brokenness — and turned it into the ultimate sign of beauty and redemption.

When we allow God to work through our brokenness, we find that beauty isn’t the absence of cracks — it’s the presence of grace within them. So remember this: God is not done.

He’s still creating beauty from  brokenness. People’s stories are still being written.

That's what we're trying to achieve when we're working with families, in schools and on the street.

Our mission is people serving people. Our vision is motivating people to improve their lives and the lives of others through servant living and leadership.

Now, we stand at a defining moment. As we look toward 2026, 2027, and 2028, we are launching a bold Capital Campaign to expand our Community Initiative and Leadership Initiative — two programs that are shaping lives and building stronger, more productive communities.  In the last five years we have reached over 17,000 people and have had over 3000 volunteers as well as many spiritual conversations and those placing their trust in Jesus.

We have addressed the issues of hunger, homelessness, and hopelessness.

Our goal is to raise $600,000 over the next three years over our yearly budget of $250,000. This investment will:

  • Strengthen communities through service, education, and outreach initiatives. $200,000

    • Deepen and expand our community outreach from 7 partners to 10.

    • Offer scholarships to inner city teens to have the opportunity to go to a Christian high school.

    • Give funds to a Christian homeless ministry so men can overcome addictions and get jobs.

  • Empower emerging and existing leaders through training, mentorship, and discipleship. $200,000

    • Give our staff  equitable salaries

    • Continue Catalyst leadership coaching with existing business leaders.

    • Launch Converge, a college-age gap year program for emerging leaders.

    • Start a podcast around conversations about productive lives.

  • Build sustainable spaces and resources for growth, collaboration, and impact. $200,000

    • Buy and finish our ministry center guest house so groups can reach the neighborhood.

    • Refurbish homes for our college students.

    • This is more than a fundraising effort — it’s a faith-building journey. Every gift, every prayer, and every partnership helps multiply impact for years to come.

We believe God is calling us to do more, reach farther, and build deeper roots in the lives of those we serve in Philadelphia and beyond. With your help, we can expand our reach, develop leaders who serve with excellence and integrity, and bring lasting transformation to the communities we love.

Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us in this vision?

Together, we can build something that lasts — something productive, purposeful, and powerful for generations to come.

Thank you for believing that God still uses people to reach people. Thank you for believing in purpose. Thank you for believing in Productive Lives.

With gratitude and expectation,

Dr. Cameron Garven
