Dope Dealer to Hope Dealer | Matt Maceira of Be Bold Ministries (Part 3)
In the finale of this powerful conversation, host Cam Garven sits down once more with Matt Maceira of Be Bold Street Ministries — a man Cam calls a modern-day Paul. Matt shares how he now goes back to the very people he once ran organized crime with in Oregon, offering them the same freedom he found in Christ. Some mock him, but others listen — including a man Matt once hurt so badly that his body carries it to this day, who wept, forgave him, and came to Christ: "If there was anybody that was never getting out, it was you."
From there, the invitations keep coming — the Philippines, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Costa Rica, Brazil, and Argentina — always partnering with local churches, always about evangelism and making disciples. Matt explains why he refuses government money (the contracts say no proselytizing, no worship: "I'm sold out for Jesus, but I'm not selling Him out") and how God provides through His people instead. He also looks back on the empty life his money once bought — and the nearly a decade of homelessness that followed — and tells how he met his wife, whose own story runs from organized crime to the recovery field, and how even their wedding became a chance to share the gospel.
Matt closes with a charge for every listener: if you have yet to believe, today is the day. If you're a prodigal, come home. And if you're walking close with the Lord, stay surrendered — and please pray for Matt, his family, and the Be Bold team as they go.
